You are here: Home > Agricultural > FAQ104

When is an agricultural burn permit not necessary?

A commercial agricultural operation does not need a permit for the burning of:

  • Orchard prunings (However, tree removal does require a permit)
  • Natural vegetation along fencelines, irrigation canals, or drainage ditches
  • Tumbleweeds that have blown on to your property

You are required to notify your local fire protection agency that you will be doing burning of these types.
