Must be a PDF file less than 25mbAn AHERA Survey must be uploaded

Note: If you are presuming materials to be asbestos-containing and that is the only potential asbestos containing materials to be impacted, a PDF letter may be uploaded in place of the survey stating such.

Is the work being done by the owner of a single family residence who occupies the residence?

You must itemize each asbestos containing material in this structure.

An emergency project is a project that was not planned but results from a sudden, unexpected event that, if not immediately attended to, presents a safety or public health hazard, is necessary to protect equipment from damage, or is necessary to avoid imposing an unreasonable financial burden.
Your letter must explain why the project was ordered by the government official.
A facility means any instituional, commercial, public. industrial, or residential structure, installation, or building (including any structure, installation, or building containing condominiums or individual dwellign units operated as a residential cooperative, but excluding residential buildings having four or fewer dwellign units).
If the structure will be demolished but a separate notification will be filed by the owner or demolition contractor please select asbestos removal pre-demolition. Demolition means any wrecking, razing, leveling, dismantling, or intentional burning of a strucutre, making the structure permanently uninhabitable or unusuable in part or whole. It includes related handling operations. It also includes taking out of any load-supporting structural member.
An asbestos survey must consist of a written report resulting from a thorough inspection performed by an AHERA building inspector. The AHERA building inspector must use the procedures in EPA regulations 40 CFR 763.86 or an alternate asbestos survey method pursuant to BCAA Regulation I, Section 8.02.F.
Friable asbestos containing materials means material that when dry, can be crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to pwder by hand pressurer or by the forces expected to act upon the material in the course of demolition, renovation, or disposal.
An owner-occupied single-family residence means any non-multiple residential unit that is used by one family who owns the property as their domicile both prior to and after renovation or demolition, and can demonstrate such to the Agency upon request.
Standard work practices generally involve manual removal methods used for asbestos-containing material that is intact and readily identifiable. Standard work practices must include a controlled area clearly marked by barriers and asbestos warning signs, proper wetting and handling of ACM, and proper disposal of ACM, according to BCAA Regulation I, Section 8.05.
An alternative work plan must meet all the requirements of BCAA Regulation I, Section 8.06.
Describe the material, such as popcorn ceiling or vinyl asbestos tiles.
Friable asbestos containing materials means material that when dry, can be crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to pwder by hand pressurer or by the forces expected to act upon the material in the course of demolition, renovation, or disposal.
Typically, this requires manual removal of ACM. If it is questionable that a material will remain nonfriable, an AHERA Project Designer may be required to inspect the projected work practices.
Nonfriable ACM may be left in place if an AHERA Project Designer has evaluated the work area, the type of asbestos-containing materials involved, the projected work practices, and the engineering controls, and demonstrates to the Agency that the ACM will remain nonfriable during all demolition activites and subsequent disposal of the debris.
