New Special Burn Permit Application

Burn Type

Please note the following:

  • Special burn permits are issued for burning natural vegetation outside of the urban growth area, where the pile size is larger than 4ft. in diameter.
  • There is a $75.00 non-refundable fee for this application, which may be paid online following submittal.
  • A BCAA staff member will measure the burn piles and calculate the total volume that will be burned after the application fee is received.
  • Based on these measurements, a fee of $8.50 per cubic yard must be paid before the permit is issued.

  • A good faith survey must be conducted by an AHERA certified inspector to determine if there is any asbestos present in the structure.
  • An asbestos notification must be submitted along with the appropriate fee
  • Once all asbestos has been removed, an inspection of the structure will be conducted by a BCAA inspector. The inspection will confirm proper abatement and identify prohibited materials.
  • Any identified prohibited materials must be removed prior to the training burn.
